// 1. Informational use only
Tapeboard is a market-data and research tool for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing displayed in the app, on this website, in emails, in alerts, in scanner output, or in AI-generated summaries is investment advice, a recommendation, an offer, or a solicitation to buy or sell any security, derivative, cryptocurrency, or other instrument.
// 2. We are not your advisor
Tapeboard LLC is not a registered broker-dealer, not a registered investment adviser (RIA), not a futures commission merchant (FCM), not a commodity trading advisor, and not affiliated with FINRA or the SEC. No fiduciary, advisory, or agency relationship is created by your use of the service. We do not know your financial situation, risk tolerance, or goals, and the service does not personalize content to them.
// 3. You assume all risk
Trading and investing involve substantial risk, including the loss of your entire investment. Leverage and short-selling can produce losses larger than the amount you put in. You alone are responsible for your decisions and outcomes. Before trading you should consult a licensed professional who knows your circumstances.
// 4. No guarantee of accuracy
Market data, fundamentals, news, filings, and economic series in Tapeboard come from third parties. They can be delayed, incomplete, mis-tagged, restated, or wrong. AI summaries are model output and can hallucinate. You should verify anything you act on against the original source. See Data Disclosures for source-by-source detail.
// 5. Past performance and forward-looking statements
Historical price action, backtests, and any performance statistics shown in the app are not indicative of future results. Forward-looking commentary, including AI-generated outlook text, is opinion at a moment in time, not a prediction.
// 6. Paper trading is simulated
The Tapeboard paper-trading simulator places fake orders against live or delayed market data. No real money changes hands, no real positions are taken, and no real broker is involved. Simulated fills approximate but do not replicate real-market execution: real fills depend on routing, liquidity, latency, and counterparty behavior that the simulator can only model. Profitable paper trading does not predict profitable real-money trading.
// 7. Scanner, alerts, and AI output
Scanners surface tickers that match user-defined or preset criteria. Inclusion in a scan is a screen result, not an endorsement. Alerts fire when conditions are met against the data we have at that moment; they can fire late, fail to fire, or fire on bad data. AI-generated research briefings, news summaries, and chart commentary are generated by language models and can be wrong, outdated, or fabricated. Treat all output as a starting point for your own due diligence.
// 8. Crypto and forex
Where Tapeboard displays crypto or forex prices, those markets trade 24/7 with thinner liquidity than US equities and are largely outside US securities regulation. Volatility and counterparty risk are higher.
// 9. No solicitation in restricted jurisdictions
Tapeboard is operated from the United States. Nothing in the service is intended as an offer or solicitation in any jurisdiction where doing so would be unlawful. Use is at your discretion and at your own risk.
// 10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tapeboard LLC, its members, and its employees are not liable for any trading or investment decision you make, for any loss of profit or capital, or for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. The full liability framework is in the Terms of Service.
